I was on a road trip in the middle of nowhere between Sydney and Melbourne when I got a phone call from a good friend and client asking me to follow him on a journey in the Peruvian jungle. Hard to refuse an offer like that! While flying from Sydney straight to Lima would have been faster, I had to go back to Belgium to fetch some camera gear first... 25 hours to Belgium, a 3 days layover and off I went to Lima, Peru!
I was hired as a director of photography and thus was there to film the journey. But from time to time I switched my Canon 5D MkIII to still mode to snap photos of local people here and there. The film is still in the editing room but here are some of my photos taken either in Lima or when traveling in the San Martin region.
